THe8 Speed is a classic tip-tronic slush box, but a good one at that. The S-Tronic shifts 5 times faster than the 8 speed. I agree. the open question, how much can the S-tronic handle? Easily 450hp (see RS5). You would think there is some margin in there too, so my guess is 510hp is in the upper limit swim lane but I an GUESSING.
TheZF is still impressive at up-shift speeds but the S-tronic does still beat it. But it seems to me Audi is switching to S-tronic for mainstream cars but currently sticking to ZF in S & RS models with the R8 being an exception as its S-tronic is not like any of the mainstream models.
